A Turkish SME that is dealing with mobile technologies invented a technological infrastructure that will enable to create new marketing channels at the locations close to point of sale, interacting on the proximity with the mobile phones of consumers using wireless technologies such as Bluetooth or NFC. This SME is willing to do license or joint venture agreement.

The arrival of new technologies such as internet and multimedia mobile phones are creating a new paradigm of media consumption following principles such as individualization, personalization, connectivity, multimedia experience, cross-media experience and interactivity. Advertisers and brands must consider all contact points available within a target group. It is not enough just using traditional media like TV, press, outdoor or radio. So, the Turkish SME has realised that service providers have to interact with their customers much more effectively in mobile and ubiquitous environments and they began to seek for new ways/channels to engage customers and build effective and sustainable relationship.




The invented product tries to achieve to reach the customer close to locations such as shopping malls and interactivity would boost the performance for such a system by enabling the end user to "talk with" the platform by means of LCD touch screen panels and mobile applications. A major improvement for such a system would be to add payment processing capability. This way the consumer will not only have a certain "interest" for a product but he would also "act" and go ahead and buy this product without having to go to cashier to make the payment. Therefore they integrate NFC (near field communication) contactless payment ability and come up with a multimedia POS system mPOS. To foster mobile end user experience that have also developed 2 mobile applications which are integrated with their sales and marketing platform.




It is believed that retailers and brands will easily turn advertising budget into profit if they reach the customer close to trade centres. This SME is looking for business partners that have experience in similar technologies and have research and development procets with the related areas. Innovative Aspects: The increasing rate of convergence between the mobile telecommunications and payments industries has led mobile payments to become a rapidly growing industry sector in recent years. There are a number of factors driving the business case for mobile proximity payments: the ubiquity of the mobile phone, the capacity for extended functionality of the handset beyond telephone calls/short messaging and perhaps most significantly, the rapid and ongoing increase in the number of contactless payment deployments (card form factor) which has led to the establishment of a vast contactless acceptance infrastructure among merchants in a number of global markets which can be leveraged, in its current form, for mobile payments.




Another opportunity which can be leveraged by mobile contactless proximity payment programmes is the potential of mobile handsets to provide an enhanced cardholder experience. Via the display screen and keypad, which are common features on all handsets, the user can easily and conveniently launch a payment application or validate their participation in a payment transaction by entering a code or password, a concept familiar to most consumers who use a PIN to access their payment card services.




With this two trends in mind they can assume that there will be an increasing demand for platforms, which can be used to offer in-store (or point-of-sale) marketing capabilities as well as payment processing feature.
